Alizea Farquharson
If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally drained, you’re not alone. Many of the individuals I work with are navigating major life transitions such as pregnancy, postpartum, or early parenthood while also carrying the weight of stress, self-doubt, cultural expectations, or unresolved emotional pain. You may be experiencing perinatal anxiety, postpartum depression, intrusive thoughts, birth-related trauma, or the emotional complexity of balancing multiple identities. My goal is to provide a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood without judgment.

I am a licensed mental health therapist specializing in perinatal mental health and multicultural therapy for first-generation Americans and immigrants. I support adults experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), including postpartum depression and anxiety, pregnancy-related stress, identity shifts, and adjustment to parenthood. I also work closely with clients navigating immigration-related stress, intergenerational trauma, cultural identity conflicts, and the pressures of being a first-generation American.

As a first-generation American therapist, I bring both clinical expertise and lived experience to my work. I understand the emotional complexity of navigating multiple cultures, family expectations, and systems, especially during pregnancy and postpartum. My approach is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and affirming, honoring the full context of your lived experience.

I use evidence-based therapy approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR therapy, to support healing from trauma, anxiety, depression, and perinatal mental health challenges. Therapy is collaborative and individualized, whether you are processing birth trauma, managing postpartum mood changes, or working through long-standing patterns shaped by culture and family dynamics.
Seeking therapy, particularly during pregnancy, postpartum, or while navigating immigration and identity-related stress, can feel overwhelming. You deserve a therapist who meets you where you are and truly understands the intersections of mental health, culture, and life transitions. Together, we’ll explore your challenges, build resilience, and create lasting change so you can move through life and parenthood with greater clarity, balance, and ease.
